Mass Meeting of the Amherst County Committee of the Republican Party of Virginia
OFFICIAL CALL
As Chairman of the Amherst County Committee of the Republican Party of Virginia, and pursuant to the Plan of Organization and as recommended and directed by the committee, I, S. Vance Wilkins, Jr., do hereby issue this Call for a Mass Meeting to be held at the Madison Heights Community Center, 424 Woody’s Lake Road, Madison Heights, Virginia 24572, beginning at 7:00 pm local time on March 27, 2023. Registration begins at 6:00 pm local time.
THE PURPOSE OF THE MASS MEETING is to:
QUALIFICATIONS FOR PARTICIPATION
All legal and qualified voters of Amherst County, under the laws of the Commonwealth of
Virginia, regardless of race, religion, national origin, or sex, who are in accord with the principles
of the Republican Party and who, if requested, express in open meeting either orally or in writing
as may be required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing.

MILITARY PROVISION
Military Members (any members of the Virginia National Guard, or the United States Armed Forces, Merchant Marine, or Coast Guard currently serving on active duty) may be certified as delegates by complying with the procedures detailed in a Unit’s call pursuant to Art. VIII, Sec. H, para. 6. Military Member delegates or alternate delegates that are unable to attend the convention in person due to obligations of their official military orders, shall have their votes cast within their unit delegation according to candidate preference ballots.
Candidate preference ballots will be made available by the 53rd District Committee no later than April 1, 2023 and will be made available on the Republican Party of Virginia website, (www.rpv.org), on the Fifth District Republican Committee website (https://5thdistrictva.gop), or upon request by e-mail to [email protected] @gmail.com. Candidate preference ballots must be received by the Recording Secretary no later than April 24, 2023, by email to

REGISTRATION
For Mass Meeting registration, all participants must be registered voters in Amherst County, Virginia, and shall be required to provide proof of identity in the form of a valid government or employer-issued photo identification. Only those individuals who are registered at the Mass Meeting by 7:00 pm local time on March 27, 2023, or who are in line for registration by that time, will be entitled to register and participate in the Mass Meeting.
PRE-FILING REQUIREMENTS
ALL FORMS must be received by the Secretary no later than March 18, 2023 by 5 PM to be valid.

If the number of persons prefiling for election as Delegates to the Republican Party of Virginia 53rd Legislative District Convention does not exceed the number allowed by the Party Plan of the Republican Party of Virginia, as amended, and this Call, then they will be declared elected, and the Mass Meeting may be canceled.
There will be no registration fees required to participate in the Mass Meeting or 53rd District Convention.
53rd LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT CONVENTION VOLUNTARY REGISTRATION FEE:
Every person elected as a Delegate or Alternate Delegate to the Republican Party of Virginia 53rd Legislative District Convention will be asked to pay a voluntary fee to help cover the Convention expenses. A $20 voluntary fee can be paid to the Amherst County Republican Committee. Seating will be determined by the number of Delegates who are certified. Preference seating will be given based on the number of Delegates in a Unit who pay the voluntary filing fee. Delegates may pay the voluntary fee online at www.myacrc.com.
CALL REVISIONS:
The Amherst County Republican Executive Committee is authorized to revise this issued Call to make any such technical or conforming changes in the event such changes are necessary and shall promptly notify the Republican Party of Virginia.

- Elect up to 420 Delegates and an equal number of Alternates to the Republican Party of Virginia 53rd Legislative District Convention to be held on May 6, 2023 at 10:00 am at the Jefferson Forest High School, 1 Cavalier Circle, Forest, VA 24551, or an alternate site if necessary. The purpose of the Convention is: a) Election of a Republican Nominee for Delegate for the 53rd House of Delegates District for the Commonwealth of Virginia, and b) Transaction of such other business as may properly come before the Convention, and
- Transact such other business as may properly come before the Mass Meeting.
